Question for Winnipeg guys

Do any of you guys know if there are any muffler shops left that bend by application? As well, I have the Walker part number if that would help them. I know when my brother had the shop with the bender he could bend by application but I think he used the AP part numbers to get the specs, not Walker.

I will do that, thanks.

I don't know him but we used to see Dale around here and decades ago when I was working in the jobber store I got to know his Uncle Roy who had a store in Winnipeg. Seems to me it was out near the airport, actually not far from Avo Marine.

I walk in and tell them 1966 Pontiac 2 door 427 and they can bend pipes for it without the car being there.

Actually all I want is tailpipes.

I know there's a beautiful set out there from Gardner but I don't have that kind of money and they will only sell systems, no pieces.

Oh, glad you caught that now then. Yes, Big block B body all had full tailpipes with resonators except L72. No resonators and dumped behind the wheel.

Here's a picture of the correct kit Gardner has for the L72.

When I worked for Speedy Muffler in the early 80s we had a couple of guys that bent custom exhaust. On cars with coil rear suspension the big time saver on custom dual exhaust was using 1980 Ford LTD tail pipes. They were rear exit and usually fit well.

Thanks, I'll try calling him. I can just ask if he can bend pipes for a specific car without having the car on his hoist.

Had my 454 Parisienne done in 2015.  I remember him saying he had the cards, and he had a little trouble bending the forward part of the drivers side headpipe.

Thanks for the tip to call Vern Hamill. He's going to make me some pipes. He sounds like a great guy. And we happen to have had the same mutual friend for about 40 years!
