Timing pointer...

Hi.. Looking for a 454 timing pointer, vintage 71-79. GM 3992073. Not sure if the earlier 427 is the same but the part is not available from the dealer. Aftermarket yes, but I was hoping someone had a decent one sitting on their shelf...

Mine has been scratched making it hard to read. Can send pics to show the style...

TIA

427 would be different as the 454 used a 8" balancer (I think only 1 427 used a 8").

I'm not sure on the different 427's. But for sure the 427 and 454 used 8" balancers, ( along with a few small different blocks)but different, one internal and the other external balanced.
BUT they use the same pointer. Small block has a different configuration and I'm not sure it would fit..
