Gas in Winnipeg

Curious as to what Winnipeg folks are burning for gas these days in their oldies and if you add any treatment to it?

I always go to Shell for their highest test, but someone told me recently, it really didn't matter any more.

Love to hear the discussion.

Thanks

In Manitoba everything contains up to 10% ethanol now.  So unless you need the higher octane for a higher performance or compession engine, there is really no point in going premium anymore.  this is in manitoba anyway.

I resently heard that canadian tire in ontario will not be putting 10% in, as they listened to customer feedback .  but not sure how or if federal mandates might change that?

I believe Ontario presently  limit's ethanal at 10% . They wish to increase it by 5% per year to 15% by 2028.

Thanks Dave. I was telling Carl that last summer while driving near Dieppe NB, I passed an Esso that advertised "no ethanal" in our gas. I wonder how accurate that was and if it's still there. I may have to re-find this summer when in NB.

Last I checked, all 91 premium is ethanol in Atlantic. Ethanol is fine for regularly used automobiles but not good for old cars, boats, you name it.

I was using a premium fuel from Co-op as it was ethanol free until January of 2022, when Manitoba legislated adding ethanol. Now I use Shell's regular grade fuel and save a few cents per litre.
