1987 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. This truck was bought new and owned by the Little Burnt Bay fire department in Newfoundland. Has just under 15,000km. I have never seen a squarebody with lower Km. Drives like a brand new truck. It was driven to Nova Scotia from NFLD last year. Please call 902 521 6030 if you are a serious buyer. This is a very rare find. $14000

Saw the ad but never heard of the truck. I agree, it could bring a bunch of money more than asking. My first thought was, it may be sold by now. Send money, Ill buy it for you or anyone else.

I was a municipal mechanic for thirty years. We had several of these types of trucks in the 80s. Im surprised that it has the gauge package and an overdrive transmission. One of our 2500 Chevy trucks was a TBI 4.3 v6 with a turbo 400 trans. It was gutless and hard on gas. At least the 350 with the 400 trans had some power. I see that there is no engine information in the advertisement. I wonder if its also a 4.3 v6 which was the base engine on fleet vehicles.

 That 4.3/TH400 combo was a horrible setup in the trucks. Hope I didn't offend any owners of one but wow that combo didn't work out well.

I don't know if it was that or the fact that it has no lock up converter but we had complaints about fuel economy for sure. Paul mentions the lack of power as well which I don't recall so much but I certainly don't doubt it because a 4.3 is just not the right engine for a full size pickup.

The truck has a new owner. It was a lot like the one I had a couple years ago. Mine came from a fire dept. in Nfld. It was an 81 with a 350/400 combo and had 5400 kms when I sold it.

Flippers...

Whoever becomes the caretaker of that thing needs to keep it original, and keep it from deteriorating. Park it over grass & high humidity & the curse of the rubber floor covering rears it ugly head. Also that generation rusts at the wheel lips on the box. Deep creep sounds like a plan.

If that truck can remain in that condition, it would become an even more important survivor as time goes on.

I see in the new ad description that it needs some work on the ribs under the box. Perhaps the potential buyer from the previous advert didnt like what he saw underneath the truck.
