Beautiful rare car but SO many little missing/incorrect details!

How did you find the price? I can't even find the car on their website.

For that price, it should have correct wheels. Maybe the green 2+2 should go for sale the minute it's done.

I wonder if Melanie would let me go for this one?

I'm really, really curious what missing/incorrect details you see.

I took a quick glance this morning:

The Ralley II wheels aren't correct, same with the red lug nuts (Pontiac never used red lug nuts, but popular in aftermarket).

Jack should be stored properly.

Clock doesn't work.

Has power antenna switch with manual antenna.

The rear floor mats are in backwards.

Not sure about the fuel filter setup.  Have seen similar on 69 & 70.

These things are all minor deffencies.

I guess because of the price, things can be pointed out.

Correct lug nuts he says ?

Non original trunk mat worn ?

I thought no Canadian Pontiac had a Power Antenna or is that just the 69s.

Again for the price, GM floor mats needed to be there.

Would the 68s have had resonators ?

Love the car but the price is unrealistic

However, there is lots of "buy now and ask later" people out there.

I say that as I look in the mirror wink

Going by memory without watching the video again-

What ABC123 said plus

-Wrong decal for posi (US decal)

-Tailpipes are wrong

-No posi tag under the diff cover bolt

-Virtually everything underneath just painted chassis black. No real attempt to find the correct plating/painting etc for individual items.

-Tonawanda decal on the valve cover

-Missing oil change decal on inner fender

I realize this is all nitpicky stuff. However, if they are asking crazy money for it the car needs to be more authentic.

Don't get me wrong, I totally am in love with the car!

My 70 454 had a Tonawanda valve cover sticket. I recently looked at a 68 Parisienne 396 with a survivor engine compartment. It had a small 396 valve cover sticker that was partially torn away, revealing the Tonwanda sticker.

Yes, it should have that decal covered.

DID CHROME VALVE COVERS COME ON THE 427 2+2'S IN '68?

I THOUGHT THAT WAS A ONE YEAR ONLY THING ON '67 427 2+2'S.

I meant to check that when I saw the chrome covers and forgot until you mentioned it.

The GM parts book says you are correct, 67 2+2 only.

Red lug nut inserts are correct for 1967 Rally II wheels, a feature of U.S. sourced cars.

In 1968 they did use power rear antennas. The Turquoise Canadian SS427 convertible had one, and Doug from Brantford with the Jade Gold '68 Strato Chief 427 4-speed told me that he ordered a manual rear antenna but received the car with a power rear antenna.

For the money they are asking, all of those quirky details need to be present to justify the price to the sort of buyer who would appreciate and pony up. Does anyone have a source for the "cover-up" 396 & 427 valve cover decals that hide the Chevy Tonawanda sticker?

Where are you going to find another one? You might just have to build a clone. That is where all of these big block Biscayne 2-doors are coming from.

However they put 15" wheels with PMD centre caps on a Canadian car!

In 1968 they did use power rear antennas.

True, it just seems odd why it has the switch but a manual front antenna.

Yes, the Canadian Pontiac B body assembly manuals show it and have a part number for it as well I believe.

Where are you going to find another one?

Exactly. Just little details but on a car with this rarity and price, all this stuff really should be corrected.

I recently ordered 2 new 396 stickers and they're waiting for me in Port Huron Michigan.

When I get them I'll post some pics.

Could the price be a typo?? Would 50 to 60 thou be more online with market and condition? For the asking price it would have to be a 100 point show car and 100% correctly canadian with all Canadian parts

I wouldn't be totally shocked if there's one guy out there who might be willing to pay $100K for it but to pay over $200K, wow he'd have to be willing to take a huge hit on it if he ever sold it.

Here's the article I got the price from

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/this-triple-black-1968-pontiac-parisienne-is-rarer-than-hen-s-teeth-219600.html

and here's the dealer listing. The price is correct (only $2737 per month!)
