This car needs some donor sections, combined with talented metalwork. If it suffers the same fate as so many of it's brethren, there will hardly be any left. Could a more common Catalina from a dry climate donate sections? Impala interior floors, unique Impala-esq trunk floors.

Maybe 15 ~ 20 years back there used to be a Midnight Green GP hardtop sedan a few blocks from me. It was super nice, but I saw bubbles start at the rear wheel openings and the car was quickly sold. Usually cars get kicked down the road until they end up disappearing for scrap.

Restoration used to be about bringing one back from death's door. Many more saw dollar signs, ultimately some losing, some gaining. Now it is about the money. You certainly need it, and some talent and vision. And an understanding wife...

Thanks for the info. I am curious how it is known how many Parisienne sport coups were made with 427s but not the same data for other models. Is it a process that someone at VVS has to manually run through to get those numbers?

They are able to tally it fairly easily from what I gather but I guess at this point nobody has done a query on a sport sedan so we don't have that info in the production numbers. It would be great if you were willing to do it (hint, hint!)

Well I guess that would bring forward some useful information. I have been considering it since the car is so complete and clearly not too common. So far the only thing missing are the wheel covers.
Original protect-o-plate, owner manual, keys, jack, and skirts are there.

IMG_8880.pngLooking over the option sheet, there is a code P74, which I believe refers to the dual stripe white wall. Has anyone seen these before? Could not find a picture of a Pontiac wearing them, but here is a caprice with dual stripes.

Dual white-stripe tires were Caprice & Grande Parisienne exclusives in 1969. For 1970 the industry switched to fibreglass-belted bias ply tires that had dual-stripes on the sidewalls and they were used by most cars. Gone after the '71s.

 I'm pretty sure that it would have to be calculated by hand, I don't think they have taken the time to computerize the system.  BUT it may be broken down as to which division received the engine/tranny etc.

For example..  Oshawa received "X" amount of 427's, the engine code would be specific for each model, Chev, Poncho, Chevelle. So they may have micro fiche for that application....

Well, I just looked closer at the Grande Parisienne in the brochure and sure enough, it has the dual stripe tires. 
On another note, I was admiring the immaculate condition of my Grande grille, wondering how it survived so long without a crack. Then I realized the whole thing is metal! Is the Strato/Laurentien/Parisienne grille also metal? Were there any differences between those model grilles?

The Grande Parisienne grills were unique to the Grande and the Safari.

Identical to the US Bonneville but like almost everything else on the car, but Made In Canada.

Canadian Grande grills have a different suffix after the part number.

They also have different mounting holes for "Pontiac" as US Bonneville cars used a longer "Bonneville" name plate

Grande grills are cast steel or alloy chromed and painted with a plastic surround.

The plastic surroundings are the hardest thing to find.

All other models used a one-piece plastic grill for each side.

Mark's car has NOS US Bonneville Grills with surrounds off the Grande in my avatar.

Cool part is the cast part of the grills were passed from Todd to Mark and then passed on to me.

Of course, I passed the grills back to him this summer. biggrin

Would there be any interest out there from anyone to take this car and restore it? I know I dont have the budget to do it myself and would like it to go to someone who can do a full restoration on it instead of pulling it apart.

It was a a running car when parked back in 1984 but the engine is now stuck. I have never driven the car. 
I bought the car for the drivetrain for another project but the rarity of the car has made me reconsider pulling it apart. 
I had also considered doing a full restoration on it but will not have the resources to do so. 
I would love to find a 1969 LS-1 drivetrain and the 427 emblems for my project.

IMG_1385.jpegI was looking through some old threads and found this. Looks like there were indeed 1173 1969 Grande Parisienne sport sedans ever made. There were also only 348 LS1 427s put into all full size Pontiacs that year. Was it 173 L36 full size cars total?

Thank you for the reply. I am strongly considering this and I actually have gone out to look at this car twice. It is complete and original. It has had a color change and the vinyl top is not factory. Those are minor things. There is rust around the rear upper wheel wells along the wheel opening moulding. There is a really strong musty smell in the car. I don't think it was wet inside but the garage may have been very old and musty that it was in. There is some rust on the fender wheel openings and the floor condition is in question. I also am curious of the metal under the vinyl. I would like to get this for a donor car but am not sure if its beyond repair or not.
