Weren't these the ones that automatically lowered the suspension height over a certain speed?  Nice car... I've always liked them.

Yes, Mark, you are quite correct. I still remember a commercial which showed the Mark VIII lowering enough to make it under a bridge. The cockpit of these cars was a work of art with everything on the dash being driver oriented. My uncle bought his fully loaded Mark VIII in '98. It even came with a telephone. He let me drive it on a number of occasions. I enjoyed every second. Talk about luxury!
