Did these steering wheels really come on Canadian Pontiacs ?

So, this may start some interesting conversation.

But I am having a hard time believing this steering wheel was used in a Canadian Pontiac.

1969 to 1972 PMD Sport Wheel.

Depends on what line you are talking about.

Definitely available on Canadian built A body LeMans.

Not on a 69 or 70  B Body that's for sure. BUT it works!

I'm with you guys, never on a B body here. And yes on a 69-70 A body here.

Definitely not offered on Canadian pontiac's but was available on US built 69's sold in Canada like the GTO, Firebird or GP. In 70 they built GTO's in Canada so you could order that wheel on a 70 GTO or LeMans even if built in Canada.

I had no idea the guy walking around my car taking pictures at Sunday's show was going to create this much controversy. He posted them to a Pontiac group on Facebook, and holy cow. They've made their way to another Pontiac group, and now here.

I like your car biggrin

I thought I made a mistake by sending the PMD wheel off to a happy Grand Prix owner.

I've got one on my 70 Parisienne as well. I'm surprised no one on any of the different groups has commented on the Ralley Gauge cluster in a Canadian Pontiac.

Here's a comparison between a few different factory steering wheels for 1970. The pics are from the brochures.

Yup, the Pontiac wheel is the Oldsmobile wheel, upside down.

The answer is clearly no as the GM docs show. I knew this when I owned the car but I really liked the sport steering wheel so I never considered replacing it with a stock wheel.

I guess when you spend most of your driving life behind an original wheel, the sport wheel just doesnt feel the same wink
