396/325hp Convertible

Thought I would share I had the opportunity to purchase of a one owner 1968 Parisienne Convertible here in Calgary.

It's a numbers matching old girl, been sitting awhile thankfully inside, did not take too much to massage her back to life.

Getting the years of dust off her along with a new fluids etc. Was very surprised how the 396 moves this car along.

I would like to thank a member on this site for sharing this information on this gem for me to purchase.

Out of respect for his privacy I'll let him identify himself, but again a big thank you Sir.

Was not able to load any photos? But will try again later.

I'll raise my hand and admit it was I that alerted Wayne of this car. Knowing he's always on the lookout for a gem in the rough, I figured this was right up his alley. I'm glad it worked out for all parties.

Why am I not surprised.

It was Clint that found a near perfect 68 convertible frame for me last year.

Well done.

Cool to see the correct "396" on the right valve cover to cover the Tonawanda decal that would have been placed on there when the engine was built.

What a nice car!

Will you submit a story with pics to Todd for a feature?

None really, just kinda tinkering with the old girl keeps me out of mischief.

All I ever see or hear of are 327 cars. The 396 325-horse was not the greatest in a car like a Camaro, but in a full-size car they are very well suited.

That car sure is a beauty, and mostly original

These cars glide along. No effort. Silent.
