I have only seen one other 1963 with a 3-speed manual, it was a roadster and that was around 1980.

There was a mid year BB with a 3speed in my Corvette club a number of years back. Rare car for all the wrong reasons...

My understanding is that three speeds back at that time were a LOT more common than that period of cars seen around today suggests;
I'd be interested to know how corvettes were ordered, if anyone has documentation of the sort.
I believe that the three speed stick was a part of the base equipment, and that this was the very first year that GM made their in-house version of the BW-T10 - the "Muncie" four speed.

For sure, the 4 speed was just starting to gain more attention back in early 60's. But Vettes with 3 speeds are VERY rare, with a BB even rarer. I'm away from home for another 2 weeks and remind then.
I'll look in my info. As I said, I've only seen one for sure and maybe 1-2 others in 40+ years owning , judging and shows..

63 was a mid year change from BW to Muncie 4speed in all Chevies I believe, it certainly was in the vette. The 3 speed was the base transmission, the 4 speed was an option.
