Have you tried getting a Marti Report for it?

According to their website:

"Marti Reports are currently available for all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles built in the United States or Canada 1967-2017. Unfortunately, data is not available for vehicle 1966 and earlier."

So if it's a 1966, you're out of luck (you are non-specific in the year of the vehicle), but perhaps a 1967 might be covered, even if it's an export?

Since the site is dedicated to Canadian Pontiac vehicles our membership may not have much information on Fords. I do have a good publication called the "Catalogue of Canadian Car I.D Numbers" and they state that from 1960-65 the 7th digit of the VIN from the Oakville Ontario plant designated either left hand drive ("L") or right hand drive ("R") so I'd say it is feasible a right hand drive 66 or 67 Fairlane convertible could have been built.

Marti Auto Works can provide build informatoin on any Ford built in Canada from 1967 on. You could contact them to see if they have a way of determining if any right hand drive Fairlane convertibles were made. Their website is https://www.martiauto.com/martireports.cfm

For the record, Canadian cars are all LHD but Canada has built many RHD vehicles for export.

Mostly to Commonwealth countries for tax reasons I believe.

There are a number of RHD '60s big Fords in the UK but, as far as I am aware, only Galaxy convertibles not Fairlanes. Shipping to Aus is possible but costly.

The Falcon & Fairlane are so closely related, the Aussie Fairlane in those years actually had a Falcon front end clip on a Fairlane. They put horizontal quad headlights on them. Between the Fairlane, which I think was only the 4-door, and the Falcons which were 4-doors & LWB Utes & Sedan Deliveries there was nary a convertible. I have not heard nor seen a RHD convertible Fairlane. I see AMC was importing RHD convertible Rebels at the time.

With a low volume I could see somebody importing a LHD model & getting an expensive Bill Buckle RHD conversion when new.

Hey, they made early Chevy II convertibles which are unibody with shock towers like the Fairlane. They also made RHD Chevy IIs. There might be a better chance of converting a Chevy II convertible to RHD. If you've ever seen the factory shop manuals, they show a Chevy II front clip just unbolted as a complete rollaway assembly. It would be relatively easy to graft a RHD firewall then bolt up a RHD front clip.

Thank you kindly for your reply, I did specify 1966-67 RHD Ford Fairlane convertible (do you mean its not specific enough) ?. I may check out a Marti Report ? Do you know whether I can get a Marti Report on exactly what I'm after ? OR is it a broad range report ?

I don't like my chances ? What I do find strange is there is that I haven't been able to find 'one' RHD conversion for sale outside of Australia ? (weird) ? I may try the Marti Report ?

What I mean by non-specific is that the cutoff for Marti Reports is between 1966 and 1967. If your car is a 1966 or before, there is no report available, apparently. If it is a 1967 and later, there is one available.

I'm not totally a 'Ford guy', though I do have one, but I have never gotten a Marti Report for it. What I understand is that the Marti Report is the 'gold standard' for getting info on your old Ford.

I think you need to provide a VIN to get a report (for a specific vehicle), but I don't know if they provide general information outside of that. I would suggest that you contact them and see if they might be able to answer your specific question (I don't know if they do that, but it's worth a try), or at least point you in the right direction.
