Was the underside of the car painted body colour, or were they semi gloss black

Most of the canadian cars I've seen are greenish vinyl wash primer(like an etch prime) With body color overspray. Lots of missed areas so lots of just bare rusty metal.

If the primer is green, it is likely high-zinc primer.

Yes,  Zinc thats the word i was looking for.

Here is my 64 beaumont low mile survivor  it is a white car hence the white overspray evident in the first pic.

That's exactly how the underside of my nephew's 67 SD396 looked when I pulled off all that nasty GM undercoating.
