Since we couldn't get closer as the downtown was jammed, we watched them from the Burlington Mall parking lot. 

Doesn't get any better then this on a warm summers night...

I watched once from an island cottage as a neighbour, am American who had a summer home here, set off humongous fireworks on the point, we were looking straight at his property as he set off a small city worth of fireworks. He had a guest for the weekend who flew in from the USA, accompanied by numerous secret service helicopters and black suburbans, the guest was a fellow by the name of Clarence Thomas. Came into Halifax on a private jet.
