Check out CB radio on this 1982 Buick

Park Avenue, looks awful nice for $5,000.

Seems to me back in my memory you could get a CB factory option, was this one of those?

Yes indeed it was an option. Here are the pictures from the owners manual I kept after my dad sold his 1980 Buick.

Looks like the one in this car? That radio likely worth a fair amount alone. No external cb antenna, so likely factory.

The CB radio appears factory. GM flirted with CB radios (as did the general population) in the mid-70's, with factory installs an interim '77 option I think. That kind of died out by the mid-80's.

That Park Avenue appears to be well preserved. Being an '82 it is probably a 307 Oldsmobile V8 with a Quadra-Jet, maybe a TH350 with lockup converter or perhaps an early 200 4R (not the worst/greatest either way). My old neighbour who got new cars every 3rd fall got an '82 Park Avenue like it in the fall of '81, except that it was charcoal grey with a silver padded vinyl top, and it had the alloys instead of the chrome wheels (nice either way). He drove it to Florida every November and stayed into April, and it was always clean.

I used to own a high-miles '77 Olds 98 Regency that was super comfy, and dad's business associate handed me the keys to an hours-old '77 Sedan DeVille D' Elegance when I was 15 (of course I took it around the block). I always like these big GM rwd models for some reason. I guess I respect them as being a good design, being traditional full frame but put through weight loss & packaging efficiency.

I worked at the Pontiac Buick GMC dealership from Nov 80 - Nov 85. We saw a few of those CB's come through and there was a GM Accessories kit to retrofit as well. And of course some guys wanted to be Burt Reynolds and had them in Trans Ams!

Good eye! I never noticed it. I do remember seeing a '79 Olds 98 for sale with about 4000 miles on it. No A/C or vinyl roof!

A guy near me has a 1980 Trans Am WS6 with factory 4-wheel disk brakes & resonator exhaust system, no a/c makes for an unusually tidy underhood, just a humble 301 4-barrel (turbos required a/c). The car was sold new in the Yukon Territories (no a/c indeed) and is a rare yellow version (I seem to recall 70 yellow ones sold in Canada but I'm only guessing today).

I was away in Winnipeg and just filling in a couple of minutes in the waiting room. Stupid phones, I NEVER use my phone for internet unless there's nothing else. I fixed it up now. That was the worst spelling of "Pontiac" I've ever seen!

I saw that ad and thought that was a very good deal if the car is solid. I know a guy who can fix those CB's.

I worked at AMC (Brampton) from 72-79. You could get an AM/FM/CB in a Gremlin/Hornet. We built Jeeps after 77. Also in them I think.
