Even though it all fell apart I always thought the whole Bricklin thing was pretty cool.

Harold Firestone (of actual Firestone tire fame) lived near us in Ancaster from the late 1960s while the Firestone plant was in full operation in Hamilton. In the mid 1970s when the Bricklin came out, Harold's wife was the first in town (actually the only one) with a new Bricklin. It was orange, and may have actually been rolling on B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As (a little ironic for a Firestone family vehicle).

The Bricklin started out powered by an AMC 360 in 1974, but switched to a Ford 351 for 1975 & 76. I always thought the dash hardware looked like it came from an AMC and it probably did. The was no ashtray, and that was on purpose according to Malcolm Bricklin.

Like many folks, I still remember seeing a new white one at the Toronto International Auto Show.
