I am on the hunt for a driver quality or better rear bumper for my 67 Bonneville. I do have a core and the one on the car has a few dents so I would like to pop a better one on there if I can find one. I think its the same as the rear used on the 67 GP, Cat and Par.
I'm pretty sure you would need a bumper from a US car as there are differences in where they bolt up. Chevrolet versus Pontiac frames.
On my 1969 2+2, the bumper bolts to the body shell and the different frame does not come into play. My car uses the same brackets and bumper used on an American full-size. The bumpers on all the Pontiacs I have worked on, including 1967, never bolted to the frame.
Thanks a bundle John for the info! I think I will just bite the bullet and have my spare core re-chromed. Hard to find folks in Canada now that do this sadly I may have to venture across the border possibly.
So it sounds like the brackets are different, but the bumpers are the same? I don't have a US Pontiac parts book to compare.
I can only speak specifically to the '69 full-size, but the rear bumper and brackets for Canadian or American full-size models, are the same and share the same part numbers. Somebody with a '67 model could confirm whether or not it is the same way for '67.

Same for 1970 full-size, the rear bumper brackets are the same US vs Cdn models. I have a Bonneville bumper on the back of my 70 2+2 convertible.
