Fixed a Rolls today, carb leaking gas at the feed line. Asked the owner- are you a mechanic- he said no. Im Always afraid of stripping or breaking those female fittings. Got it to move about an 1/8 inch, stopped the drip. He was smelling gas. Quite a classic. I was parked behind him at a car show. Do you always carry Whitworth tools on you? Or did you use your all-purpose adjustable spanner?

If anyone likes old iron it behooves them to learn how to work on it.
You know what they say though, "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

My standard tools were a little sloppy, had never heard of whitworth until I googled it after. My 3/4 fit on the fuel line, the 1 inch on the carb fitting. I carry a few tools in my car, first time I had to use them on anything.
