looking over GM docs with Randy today and notice dauls were an option even on 427 cars. If you didn`t order it you did not get it. Seems the L72 cars were the only ones to get it inclued with that motor. Do I have this right? you order a CS with a big block and you just thought it would come with dauls
The 1969 LS1 427s and their 1970 counterpart the LS4 454 came with a large single exhaust system with resonator. N10 dual exhaust were an option. 345 horse rating in any case. The L36 was always dual exhaust.
The LS5 was always dual exhaust except on 1971-73 full-size clamshell gate wagons. A special longer duration cam was used on the single exhaust LS5, basically making it an LS4.
Come 1973 models the LS4 was the only 454 and it came with duals except as noted above. In 1975 with the catalytic converter came a single system that split into 2 downstream.

The order books back then must have been like the Wild West !
I still cannot get over this 1969, 2+2 parts car, I have with a powerglide console shift plate.
PRNDL not PRNDSL.
A true fact was you could "down order" the powerglide on any Parisienne as was the case with the black convertible and one other that I know of but a 2+2 ?
I am really tempted to order the docs on this car.
In 69 anyhow only the 390-427 horse came with duals as standard and they had resonators. Interestingly the 250 horse 350 engine had single exhaust only with duals not even offered optionally. The 300-350, 265-396 and the 335-427 all came with single exhaust (no resonator) with duals (with resonators) offered optionally at extra cost.
