I wonder if it is a 2 or 4-barrel 350? Decades ago a friend owned nearly the same car, Autumn Gold Impala Sport Sedan but no vinyl top. His had the 300-horse 350 & it moved very nicely if you fed it high octane gas. It was later repainted Cranberry Red. It was a nice driving car.

I learned how to drive in dad's '70 Biscayne 6-cyl 3-in-the-tree. It looked exactly like this:

Ours even had a radio block-off. We went from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and from as far north as Jasper to as far south as Tijuana, Mexico, drove on logging roads, on Lombard Street in San Francisco, crossed the Mojave Desert & Bonneville Salt Flats, towed a tent trailer at 80 mph in California (it was 80 mph back then, but our mistake officer, only 55 mph with a trailer). It had been to Florida a number of times and through a flooded underpass in Tennessee.
