Planning a head with our project....wondering if anyone came up with the paint code for the baby blue engine hood springs. I did a search of this site and read a lot of stuff but didn't find where anyone was able to answer this. I can't say with certainty but I think it may only available on 58 - 62. I know for sure it's factory for 62.
Interesting! Don's '63 are dark blue. The spring itself is also different. The coils are smaller diameter and the spring is longer. I'm going to take a spring to NAPA and get it scanned. I'll post the formula here in case others want to get some mixed.
My 64 Parisienne Custom Sport has the baby blue/aqua springs. I just mixed my own paints together to get close to the colour, but a little brighter. I'd be interested to know the results of the paint scan.
I thought today was going to be the day to solve the mystery of the paint code for engine hood springs, until I learned NAPA needs a 12 X 12 flat surface to scan. I emailed Vintage Vehicle Services to see if they are able to help. I'll post here when I hear back from them.
