Thieves use air tags to steal cars.

Man, it is a constant game of cat and mouse.

Car thieves are using AirTags to steal vehicles. Are cottagers at risk? - Cottage Life

This is old news... they have been doing this for 4-5 years here in Ontario. Best idea is install an Airtag on your car first

They are doing it a cruise nights as well-my buddy was at a cruise night this summer in Toronto and a friend of his with a mid year corvette went to retrieve something from behind the seat when he got home and found an air tag-so they just walk by your car with the windows down and toss them in-unreal-
Keep on Cruising!

These organized crime units are now so emboldened and are now resorting to home invading to get the keys. So basically nothing can be done. Your life or your car.

My wife was just talking to me yesterday about a story she heard out of Toronto recently. A very successful businessman bought a Maybach SUV, very soon after he was home invaded to get the keys to said car.

He managed somehow to drive them off without injury. In the coming week he negotiated to return the car to the dealer as his family's life was not worth it.

It's true, not that I'll ever have this issue, but it's got to the point where it's just not worth it to have a highly visible high end car.

I agree, some of us won't ever have this problem!

Especially when I see the depreciation on these cars, never mind this issue with theft etc.

Dad was wise in that he dressed down and appeared to be broke. He drove a hoopty Biscayne and didn't make himself out to be a theft target.

Remember Ennis Cosby? In 1997 Bill Cosby's only son was murdered on the side of the road for his flashy new Lexus coupe.

Bollards are the posts that you see to stop cars from hitting buildings. I've seen retractable bollards used to control traffic in other countries, now in use in the Toronto area to block your driveway when your car is parked.

Faraday cages, block radio frequencies and magnetic fields... So basically to block someone's remote from triggering your own car remote in the house.
