Ouch!

And in the top picture, what's right behind it?

I've seen worse.

I guess they all don't make it though.

That looks like my friend's fathers car he took off the road in 1979. He bought it new along with a Beaumont custom coupe for his wife. They were beautiful cars once, both with vinyl tops, p/s, p/b, Powerglide but both succumbed to the tin worm eventually.

The car above looks like his except upon closer examination the above car seems to have a 2-tone, not a vinyl roof cover.

I still recall with horror some of the cars I witnessed ending up as derby cars at the local fall fair. As a car lover from way back it was harrowing to watch. 1965 Studebaker Daytona coupe, 1966 Delta 88 Holiday coupe (425), red 1966 Parisienne coupe with vinyl top, clean 1969 Parisienne 4-door sedan that belonged to a friend no , formerly mint 1968 Impala 4-door 307 hydramatic that I remember brand new and it stayed like new until relatively recent in it's history when the grandson got it willed to him. 13 years showroom-like, 3 years to grave mad.gif. Also saw my friend's grandfather's mint (and I mean MINT) silver 1969 Laurentian coupe go through 2 more owners after his passing and end up in the derby. I saw a 1958 Lincoln throw oil and a spinning crank on the ground in a fall fair derby. What a tank it was! I also recall waay back when they were wrecking early Falcons, spinning the 144s to infinity, and even a mint 1965 Chevelle (just because it was a 6-cyl 4-dr).

Personally, I think they should wire self-driving cars to participate and dominate in smash-up derbies. Wouldn't that be fun! Let them flood On Star with their cries for help wink

Evidently  EVs would be a terrible idea unless you could remove the volatile battery packs and just run Duracells for the duel. Hey, there's an idea!

I got my first speeding ticket in the twin of the brick coloured 66, a 327 PG, I was 16 and driving my dad somewhere. It was winter and the snow tires were out of balance at 60mph, dad said speed up or slow down, I made the wrong choice. He taught me to drive at 8, I got my license on my birthday, did the written and driving test the same day.

Please take down the photos of the burgundy car? It's Blake's favourtie car, mostly because I had a Laurentian that exact colour. I'm too old to start another project!!!! The floor looks real solid. Hopefully someone will rescue it.
