Where there's a will, there's a way.

At the barn where my daughter used to ride, cats made it up into the rafter no problem.
My cat loves to jump up & sleep on top of my china cabinet which is 7' high. He must be an alpha.

We haven't put a Christmas tree up in years because our various cats over the years cause us grief with the tree.
