Shown above, a worker with the first initial "C" is about to grease pencil a message on a firewall to his friend "C" down the line. Since there are 2 "C"s, he wrote "C2" on the firewall.
I say it in jest.
Pure fiction or not, those workers understood the crayon markings & paint dabs.
