That would solve my basic issue - space! I have a low clearance ceiling 1-car garage that has a car, a motorcycle, a few bicycles, plus 2 canoes that would love to come inside. My engine on a stand could come home.

Todd, you know that place looks tempting. Maybe it could become the Canadianponcho World HQ. There's room for project cars and desperate saves. It rivals Kevin's place even, though Kevin is near Niagara Falls & the border. P.E.I. is a little harder to reach the border.

Very nice, and somewhat of a deal at "only" $950,000.  Some of you Ontario or western folk could sell your 2-bedroom bungalow and buy this with money left over to pick up a couple of extra cars to help fill the bays!  If I had built a larger home back in the day I might be able get enough out of it to swing it, but not at current values with my smallish house.

Do you know the story of the owner, Todd?  I can't help but wonder why he would give up a literal paradise like this, unless he passed away or had to go to an assisted living facility or something of the sort.

Anyhow... I agree with others that it would be a great new headquarters for Canadian Poncho!

I don't know the owner but hope to meet him as he's a car guy. It would make a nice Canadian Poncho world headquarters wouldn't it? I think if I were to move to another house I'd want everything on the main floor .

Before the pandemic it was rare to see a house selling for close to a million. Maybe 1 or 2 would be listed at any given time. Now there are dozens. I remember in 2018 seeing houses for sale that needed major renovations for sale for $20-30K. In fact I almost bought one instead of the outbuilding. A neighbor has bought four or five of them and restored them themselves and are getting huge $$ for them.

Yeah, lots of stuff has led up to the million dollar house thing, and it actually started before the pandemic.  Foreign nationals sinking money (including laundering) into Canadian real estate as an investment and a way to hide cash.  Started on the west coast IIRC.

Pandemic craziness set in and seemed to create all kinds of anxieties about supply and demand, which affected everything from toilet paper to collector cars.  The shelves cleared of toilet paper and car prices spiked.  For those of us on the east coast, we noticed that the pandemic seemed to motivate many people from more populous areas of the country to seek out a slower more enjoyable lifestyle, which resulted in many people coming here after cashing out from their inflated house prices to take advantage of low Maritime real estate prices.  Supply/demand then drove our prices up.

A massive sudden explosion in our population was the nail in the coffin for our housing situation, and it will probably take many years to recover.  I will not go any further as I would be treading dangerously close to politics.  :)
