I recall reading a magazine article years ago (Muscle Car Review?  not sure) about 4-door 409s, so there were some made, and presumably the number was small.  I'll leave it to the experts to decide whether it's a legit one or not.

$10K seems reasonable if it's solid and has the hard to find parts, considering its rarity.  However, a 4-door is not for everybody so that might limit the market.

Don... this one has you written all over it.  You probably even have some parts left over from the '62 that you scrapped...  ;)

Back in the day Reggie Jackson had one 4door/4spd sold at BJ auction, referred to as the salesman car..
I like this car even if it was not originally a 409 4dr/4sp be hard to find..been off the road since 1995 motor stripped in 2014, never finished???

Out of Pennsylvania there was a '62 Impala 4-door sedan, 2-tone fawn with beige, whitewalls, wheel covers, 3-speed column shift, and a dual quad 404/409! You could get the 3-speed Saginaw with the 409, but when Chevy had to start replacing 3-speeds under warranty they made the 4-speed mandatory. By that time the milder 340-horse 409 was available, and even with a h.d. Powerglide.

I often wonder if they actually built 409 powered Chevrolets in Canada prior to the 1963 models. I speculate they may have been imported. The Canadian Pontiacs topped out at the 250-horse 327, so I wonder if the L30 327 is also at the top of the domestically-produced Chevrolets.

That Bel Air is intriguing. Talk about an all-purpose car. Grocery-getter, family shuttle, plus a sleeper that should have numbers on the glass & slicks in the trunk on Sundays.

Here's a picture from the Australian Chevrolet brochure. I would think it looks surprisingly close to what Todd posted, as a new car.

Originally a 235 6 car. It has impala dash trim, the column may have been painted to cover a 3 on the tree shifter, and that 4 speed shifter looks like a Hurst.

I had a Cdn 62 Chevy shop manual, iirc no 409 listed in it. I wonder whats included with the car- all parts including 409 shown? 409 parts sold separately can be interpreted in different ways.
