Well now I went and done it

So I was looking on Kijiji and what do I see. 61 Parisenne bubble top well might as well give the guy a call what can it hurt. Long story short 4 phone calls and 2 visits later it is mine. It needs a lot of work but the price was right. All the wife said was will you just stay of Kijiji now. And all I could say was were else will I find parts. I will get some pics in the next day or 2

Vern, I have an original 1961 owners manual. I would be happy to make a copy of it for you. Way to go, probably my favourite big Pontiac.

Cool Vern!  I like those big bubble tops.

W series is 348 or 409.  GM's first big blocks.

Nice choice!  There is an identical one sitting in a field next to me but the owner figure one of his kids will fix it.  When it fnally gets bad enough so they give up I'll buy it for ya so you can have whats left.

kinda too bad is has to be this way...

Very nice car! That looks totally original! (except for the Buick rims) It would look great, as in the other pics., with dog dishes on it! Love it!

Great find Vern. Just screams for a 348 tri power. But an old school looking 327 tri power would look good also.

Good eye Dave he lives out by Stonewall. He just bought the 60 on kijiji this summer it was local. Very nice car original paint and next to no rust. He also has a 65 GTO rag top but it is not for sale and there is not a panel on the car that is not full of rust.

348 would be nice but for now the plans are mild 350.

Vern, once I send you the manual you will see that beside the 261 only two V8's were offered, the 283 and 348.

The 4bbl 283 was rated at 230 HP and the 4bbl 348 at 250 HP. Tri Power on the 348 was shown as 280 HP. Pretty tame numbers for sure.

It is a pretty safe bet that your 350 choice will out do the factory choices in terms of Horsepower.
