(Supposedly one of 9 built especially for Expo-67)
Is this true? A friend of mine had a 67 SD way back ( car is still around ) when and it was said to have always had the 427/425 in it.I have seen the papers from Oshawa for the car but it states as been built with a 396/350.

Although possible, it's very doubtful the L72 would've been factory installed in any A-Body as even Yenko couldn't get it done until the '69 model year!. Fred Gibb managed to arrange the special L78/M40 '68 Copo Novas and ZL1 '69 Camaros but Yenko delivered more L72 non Vette or B-Body cars than anyone and neither could get L72's installed in '67 or '68 model cars!. Although the factory was supplying him specifically prepared 67's and better yet the '68 Copo 9737 Camaros, both were shipped w/ 396's right through the '68 model year.. So if there's any truth to the Expo A-Body cars having L72's they'd most likely be something like a Conroy Cheetah or some other dealer conversion!.

Nobody I know has ever been able to confirm that GM has ever put a 427/425hp in a 1967 Beaumont. When I was out west looking at the car the owner pointed out the grill emblem and the trunk emblem. They both had 3 maple leafs instead of 2. He also said that this was one more difference. Only the 9 Expo. 67 Beaumont SD's had the 3 maple leafs.

Yes it does. You're the first to notice (at least the first to mention it) I bought all the emblems from dale's muscle car. When I ordered these he asked if I was sure that's the ones I wanted since they were 66 emblems. I told him - yes I'm sure, I like them better than the 67 script. He said I'll sell you any one you want it's your car.

You have great taste Leo. The 66 emblems are much nicer. I was glad that my 67 was ordered with stripes.

Hi jlysholm. Thanks, they did turn out pretty good. My wife Pat actually did that project. She cut some paper up to fit the area she wanted to cover(several attempts) then transfered the paper cut out to some carpet she bought and cut it out. She got a guy that sews and did the trim around the mats, then another guy sewed the word BEAUMONT to a piece of material, then had that sewn to the mats.
black is great but yellow is better ha haaa why can't my car look that good great car nice job

The guy I bought it from told me it was a 396/350hp. When I got it rebuilt I found out it was a 454.
I asked all the car guys in Clinton, and no one remembers that car...
The only fellow who has had a lot of them is Ken Anderson in Winthrop
7 miles from Clinton
its a gorgeous car now no matter where it came from

Very nice! Almost makes me want to concede that '67 may be the best year of Beaumont... Another great pick for the month!

Beautiful car Leo, '67 was the best year in my opinion for the Beaumont.
About the Expo cars, GM had 4 special cars built for giving away, Esso was involved and I believe Barris was as well. They were front wheel drive Toronados, I even had the opportunity to have a ride in one of them back around 1970.
