That's the car Carl, the paint and interior is light aquamarine. No drivetrain, the body is off the frame and has new front floor pans, trunk is like new,. Ted the frame has been replaced and comes with disc brakes and a dual master cylinder. Southern front fenders, hood and inner fenders, 2 grilles , 2 sets of bumpers and 2 trunk lids. It is solid and has no body rot issues, had to pay a little more than I wanted to but it is a real good resto project and I am anxious to get started. My plan is for 327, 4 speed, steel wheels and dog dish caps, just keep it kind of stock.
Chris, that makes at least 2 of us with a 65 300 D.
wouldn't mind one myself
Me tooooo!!!
Do you guys know of the one-off genuine GM built '65 Post w/ the L72?!. It's black and exists today and is often referred to as the Z16 Post but again it's even better than the Z16-L37 engine as it's an L72!!!

I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT ONE. DO YOU HAVE ANY PICTURES?
I saw pics of it a few years ago and thinking more it's an original L78 car not L72..
What's cool too is it's a base model 300, unrestored and original paint!. There's a black clone out there somewhere that's sometimes confused w/ the real car but it's built on a 300 Deluxe, not the base 300 like the real one is..
I'll try and find pics and post them or a link..

Can't find the pics but did find this statement about the real car..
"...it is correct that there is also a 300 series 2-dr sedan, 396/425, M-22 (yes, a 65 M-22), 4.88 posi, boxed frame, Z16 suspension, Black with red guts. Still alive and well with the fellow who bought it way back in about 1968. He has the window sticker too!!!!! ..."
Here's a pic of the clone Deluxe car...I'll post real ones later if I can find 'em..

IS THE SEDAN CONSIDERED A Z-16? I WAS UNDER THE BELIEF THAT THERE WAS 200 HARDTOPS BUILT AND 1 CONVERTIBLE. WOULD THIS CAR BE Z-16 #202 OR WOULD IT BE COUNTED IN WITH THE 200 NON-CONVERTIBLES. REGARDLESS, VERY COOL.
Z16's had the L37 hydraulic lifter engine and were rated @ 375 Hp.. This car's got the solid lifter L78 396 which was rated @ 425 in 1965 although that was w/ the manifolds 'Vettes and B-Body cars got...not sure what they rated it at w/ the A-Body manifolds?. The real L78 300 Post car was built at the KC plant in June '65 a few months after Z16 production and again not the L37 so not part of the 201 Z16 production..
Sorry for hijacking the thread...we just love Post cars!!!

Thanks Pete, I've never heard of the factory built BB post car, but I have seen pictures of the clone BB car. ( which looks great with the red interior!)
My 65 is a 300 deluxe 6 cylinder car, 3 on the tree. Sierra tan metallic with a fawn interior. Of course it's also waiting for it's turn to be done...

Love to see pics of your '65 300 Post Barry!. Nice to know I'm not alone w/ this crazy love for Post cars!.
More hijacking on the '65 subject, years ago I heard one of the '65 2-Dr. Wagons built for the US Post Office was an L79 car!. Never clarified that one...or even thought about it in years?.

Fred, I've been holding out on you, I think. I don't recall sending you the info on this Canadian built Chevelle
