Yes, early in the 67 production the 283 was the standard V8 on the 736-series Beaumont Sport Deluxe. The 350-horse 396 was an option, as was the 327. The 735-series Sport Deluxe was also offered with 2 different six cylinders. At that point all Sport Deluxe Beaumonts had bucket seat & a console except for 3-speed column shift cars. Somewhere around November 21, 1966 the A51 Sports Option (Sport Deluxe option) was dropped and a dedicated Sport Deluxe series was introduced. That was the 738-series Sport Deluxe that came standard with 396 power. The 738-series came with bench seats standard, buckets were optional and the console was a separate option.

When I was a teen working at the gas station I regularly fueled up a 67 SD 283 2 barrel factory 4 speed. The car is still around in Winnipeg but of course the original engine is long gone.
I was not numbers savvy enough in those days to know about 736 vs. 738 SD cars, sadly. That's gotta be a rare car.

A fellow know in PlaP (Portage la Prairie) bought a terquoise green, 4 speed, factory tach, 283 SD in Wpg in the mid 70's. beautiful car as it was...changed it to a black, 427, turbo 400 car that was quick! Heard that someone from Calif. gave him $5000.00 for it back then and took it south....never heard from or seen again. Would have been a real collector if it was all origional and around today!!
Thanks!! Torque Thrust II, 17 x 8 on front and 17 x 10 on back...good year rubber...New interior this winter....just installed under hood light and factory trunk lite...taking it to Rod Shop in Calgary (when snow quits) to have it wet sanded....
