Weve had a decent fall so have been still doing my running around with the old car. Saw a couple snow flakes when driving today so the end may be near. Took the picture of the odometer earlier in the week. Will have to look up how many miles it had when I fixed it up 10 years ago.
Yeah the only two guys crazy enough to leave from northern Alberta and central B.C. to meet for coffee in Winnipeg. That was a fun trip and a good memory. When you talked about heat Ken, it reminded me of my trip to Pleasanton two years ago. We pulled into Redding, California and it was 108 degrees. I had the top up to create shade. That A/C is a great option so you should get her charged up. It would spell comfort.
The A/C in those cars is excellent. I had my black 66 with A/C way back when and when I got it charged up it clobbered that cooking hot black interior in short order on the hottest of days.
Get it done Ken.

No hiccups once I found the rad, spacer, and mounts. Nicer driver with the swap plus power brakes and the power steering swap from the Grand Cherokee. The other thing that really helped was changing over to those heavy sway bars not too long before I did the swap. Think I might keep it now.
It's just the driver that's been around once before and it shows. All I remember about the sale is a deck truck showed up with a body and a frame and a bunch of cardboard boxes. Didn't pay any attention to the mileage until a couple years later.
My convertible rolled over 100,000 miles some time back. Never winter driven so no rust, but I figured it was time to redo the steering, suspension & brakes this fall. Some of the bushings were getting a bit dried out, but there was still lots of meat on the rotors.
Yeah, Clint, that doesn't surprise me as you do some really long road trips. One thing on those longer trips a person usually isn't on the brakes a whole lot. Beauty of it with these old girls most of that maintenance can be done by us.
They seem to thrive on the long trips. Mine seems to like travelling for hours at optimal temps with every component working like it was designed to. Its the short hops that wear out a car.

I have this figured out. Next spring you can meet Jerel in Calgary, then the two of you can drive your cars east to Manitoba. With CP's 10th anniversary coming in January we can have a celebration in the centre of Canada next summer.

That would be a blast all right! I'm gonna sorta plan for it but it will likely have to fit in between an Air Attack Shift. I also plan to have the AC going so maybe for a change there will be something left of me by the time I get there.

Summer in Edmonton is HOT! You want to maintain that your Car's Air Conditioning (A/C or ac) system is working at its best. It is not uncommon for your Air Conditioning system to require what is known as an A/CRecharge, this may need to be done because of age or due to a problem within the system. To properly ...
I Hate to say it but it needs a lot more than a recharge. i found a guy in Edmonton that has about 40 years of experience with AC and he remembers these early GM systems well. I Just hope we can find hoses, valves, relays etc.
A lot of this stuff is available at repro but I'm not sure where the 66 Chevy stuff ends and the 66 American Pontiac stuff begins as it is kind of an amalgam. I suspect firewall forward is Chevy and firewall back is Pontiac.
