Does anyone know if a 62 CAST IRON powerglide is the same length as a 63 or newer ALUMINIUM powerglide(6"tail)? in the case of fulsize chevys and pontiacs. wondering if front driveshafts would be the same length?

60's sbc stamp decode

can anyone tell me how to decode the block stamp #s? the first one is casting # 3849852 which i think is 62-64 283, the stamp on the block deck is 805493226 the second one is stamped 786515487, not sure of casting # on it from a 65 chevelle are the engine stamps just partial vin #s?

i am now switching over to the 4 barrel so i need a quad or holley for the intake i got off Tiny. Something cheap for right now as i might buy new later on as i see how it does in Mexico with the altitude. I would just go to the wreckers but i would rather give you guys the business.

so i think i might have figured out why i cant get my roch. 2gc carb choke/idle cam relation thingy to work. it looks like a little piece of metal on the housing is broken. if anybody has one and can maybe shoot a pic that would be great. heres the only clear pic i could find.
