I just happened to walk into a conversation here at work today. One of my coworkers was lamenting on how she wishes her dad didnt sell his "old car" back in the late 80's. Being nosey when it comes to old cars, I asked her what it was. "A 68 Beaumont Convertible" was her reply. "Any idea what engine it had?" I asked. "A 396" she calmly replied! Her dad bought it when it was only a couple of years old. It was Jade Gold with white interior. It was sold to someone in Beachville (small hamlet just outside of Ingersoll). It hasn't been seen since. I told her to get her dad to go to the MTO and get a list of all the car's he has had and then get the buyers package on the Beaumont. She's going to do that but in the meantime I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows the whereabouts of this Beaumont. It sounds like it was a nice car! Todd
I talked to my coworkers' dad today. He remembers the car well. He said he could have bought it back for $3000 10 years ago but didn't have the money. At that time it was in a barn in Beachville. The motor was pulled due to a bad piston and the pistons were sitting on the ground. The top was removed. Car was dirty but the car was solid-paint was original. I mentioned to him about going to the MTO to get a list of the cars he has owned to get the VIN and then the used car package to get the current owners name. He seemed excited to do this so perhaps the car will be found. He was going to try to dig up a photo for me to scan and post. He mentioned the car had white stripes and bucket seats. Sweet! Todd
I wondered where you were Dave! Not much luck on the Beaumont. For some reason my co-workers dad went to the MTO to get the list of cars he's owned and half of them didn't show up! He is trying to get some answers as to why. A friend of mine did the same thing and got a partial list. I got a full list (all 26!) Todd
What's wrong with me. I've had only four cars registered in my name. in my whole life. Two of which I still own. Either I really love the cars I have (which I do) or no space... Guess which one.

I have "O.C.A.D.D" better known as Old Car Attention Deficit Disorder. I usually keep them a few months then get the urge for something different. That's what happens when you can't afford to keep 'em all. The Laurentian is different- it ain't goin anywhere as long as I can help it. The Corvair? I'm not so sure. It is kind of growing on me though.. Todd
