Ok, now that you did that I can see it.

When the pic first came up, I just thought it was black.

True,  the original was busted up from too much torque and too many butts over the years but it is from a another 65.

Regarding further chrome valve cover possibilities, a few '65 Chevy L79 B-Body cars were built so do we know for sure no '65 B-Body Canadian Pontiacs were built w/ the L79?.
Wouldn't a '65 Strato Post L79 car be cool?!

Controversy here we are ! I was going by the parts book assuming that because it identifies the chrome vcovers for the 427 that they would do the same for the 409 , and there is no mention of chrome identifying those, but assuming this may not be correct ?? I think the 2+2 brochure reflects chrome for the 427 too ?? Does the sales brochure show chrome 409 parts ??

I don't recall seeing any pictures of the 64 or 65 409 in a brochure but I''ll have to check.

Ok, I'm a doubter. Is there a documented L79 B body?

My recollection is that the sales brochure for 409's mentions the jewelery. here is the 64 409, I wish now I had him put the Air Cleaner on but please take my word for it.
