LOOKING FOR A FEW TO ROUND OUT THE COLLECTION

There was a blue/blue 67 sd Convert for sale in winnipeg recently, and there is another one right now in Saskatchewan for sale (claims to be an SD, NOM engine). There is a beautiful triple black 66 SD convertible, with all NOS chrome, beautiful car -super straight! 327/AT i believe which is still around south of winnipeg... I know of a handful of 67 SD hardtop cars... there was a black around wpg with fact. A/C that i saw a long time ago, and never saw it since...only one i've even seen with A/C! ..theres a blue/blue/black vinyl top 67SD 283 car that is original owner and still sees lots of miles...

my cousin had a 69 SD396 Post-car black/black... he owned it in the 70s-80s, it popped up for sale a few years ago (no motor), i was going to go look at it, never did and i dont know where it ended up...

Bill, i always thought the butternut yellow SD convert. originated in selkirk? or was it just sold to someone in selkirk? Also it looks like you have 'seat belt' holders' on the sides of the console...was that a dealer add-on or someone else add those to the car along the way?

you have a very nice collection! btw...

Is this the car?

Someone sent me this picture a few years ago. I don't know where the car ended up but this SD post has to be one of very few. With only 688 V8 post cars in 69 how many got a 396???

AK, My car has the seatbelt holders on the console too. I believe it was a factory item.

I can shed some light on the black 67 SD air car. It comes from Morris, about 3 miles from me. It's a friend of mine who owned it for many years. He sold it about 15 years ago. The car was actually cloned from a Custom, 327 manual trans bucket seat car. He added the air, tilt, wood wheel,  GTO tach and gauges, power windows, power seat, headrests, AM/FM, power antenna, reclining passenger seats, tissue dispenser,427 and so on! That car is still not too far from here. From what I hear, it's sitting outside and pretty much needs completely re-done other than maybe the interior which was fresh.

As for the yellow SD from Selkirk, I originally saw it out there as well. I believe a man from Winnipeg by the name of Chris bought it and did the restoration on it. He is the one who took it to some of the shows when it was finished I think.

I saw that too. I assume it is just a general description assigned to that code. Once again, the Canadian guys get the leftovers.........!

Which triggers another little trivia point for me to post in the Acadian section shortly!

It does say Z25 Super Sport 396 package. It's hard too read in the picture.

My  butternut yellow 68 SD-396  convertible is the car you guys are talking about. I have all the original paperwork for the car. It came from Park Pontiac
Buick in Winnipeg Manatoba. It was sold to JW  Kuzminski  who lived in Selkirk Manitoba. I have no clue how close Winnipeg and Selkirk are. Maybe someone can chime in. I also have a picture of the car circa 1970  carrying some sort of Beauty Pagent contestant and on the side of the car it say Lockport. Any thoughts?

Winnipeg, Selkirk and Lockport are almost not split any more. In the days when your car was new, likely it would have been a good 20 minute ride to Selkirk, with Lockport being closer to Winnipeg. Now it seems as if you never leave Winnipeg when you ride to Selkirk.

That picture would be fun to see if you are interested in posting it.

For interest sake I was at Pinehurst Park, near Cambridge, Ontario, in approximately 1972, and I talked with a gentleman from Galt(Cambridge) who was driving,at that time, a Butternut Yellow 1968 SD Beaumont Convertible.  I had seen this car a couple of times and I have no idea why I talked to him.  I do remember he said he was from Galt(Cambridge) at the time and it was a local car back then.  I never saw that car again and often thought of it as it was only 20 minutes or so from my location.  It could still be around although I doubt it.

Bill, you should post the music video your car is in. I think the members would enjoy seeing it. Did you check into the blue SD?

A few more pictures. This is the butternut car today next to my dads blue car.
The blue car has been featured in many magazines. The article done before I restored the car is the article from 1991 that was posted in the Beaumont section of the site. The middle picture also includes the 68 SD396 350 hp 4spd coupe as well as my 69 Yenko Chevelle which I slod several years ago.

A few more .
The first is of the blue 68 and my red 67 .
The next two are from when I just purchased my 66 L-79
Acadian from Vancouver Island  .  I am working away on the restoration and hope to have it done by the end of the summer.  The car  is a non SD L-79
coupe and from what I've been told it is one of only two sport coupes know to
exist. It was raced in it's early life as ''THE ACADIAN CANADIAN"

No, the Yellow Beaumont is from Park Pontiac. I have all sorts of trinkets from them including the original key chains that went with the car. The Acadian was delivered at Empress Motors LTD in Victoria BC and the 67 SD was delivered from Jim Tubman Motors in Ottawa Ontario

That would be a nice one to have. The SS conversion is listed because the car was one of the 300 Deluxe cars with the SS396 option. Very very rare! Black on black, big motor, 4 speed and tall gears. It doesn't get any better than that.

Amazing that the dealer (Park Pontiac) is still there 40 years later!
