I had a '66 SD396 Beaumont with the tach, but I don't remember if it had the other gauges. The sales brochure just lists the tach with no mention of the other gauges. I have a hard time remembering what happened yesterday never mind 43 years ago. Not much help, am I. The Beaumonts were definitely a step up on the Chevelles, especially the dash.

Keith, did you have 2 66 SD's or is one of them a friend of yours? The red car photo was taken in 1966 and the green/turquoise photos was taken in 1968. Looking at the underhood shot shows a green/turquoise firewall...

Ya, the tach is in the fuel guage spot. So where is the fuel guage?
And the ingintion looks to be in a hole in the steering wheel?...

I am guessing that it has the GTO tach to the right of the speedo, the pod to the left of the speedo has fuel and battery, the pod to the right of the tach has oil and temp.

Option for option the Beaumonts matched the Canadian-built Chevelles. That means no full guages, only the U16 tach. You could get P01 wheel covers or P02 wire wheelcovers on both. The N96 Mag Style wheelcovers weren't offered on the early Canadian Chevelles from the factory, but they most certainly were offered over the counter, same with the Beaumont (they had a 6-spoke Lemans mag style offered over the counter in 66).
I shouldn't answer for Keith but I will anyway. Keith bought the red 66 brand new when he started at GM Oshawa. He sold it to buy the dark green big block 66 from a friend when it was a year and a half old. The green car was ordered by a friend of his who also worked at GM and he went down the line when the car was being built. He tried to get the car built without the underhood decals but when the inspection at the end of the line happened they didn't want to release it without the underhood decals. The red car was a 283 while the green car was a 360-horse 396 with a 4-speed and 3.73 gears out back (the only ratio offered on Canadian L34 Beaumonts in 1966). The car later had a solid lifter L78 cam swapped in. Did I miss anything, Keith?

More Beaumont trivia: You could not get a h.d. radiator with shroud with a big block until 1968 models, the same year that factory a/c became available on Beaumonts and Canadian Chevelles. The V01 H.D. Radiator was listed in 1967 as being available with 6 cylinder cars or with the 283 only, but that is partially incorrect. You could also order the V01 Rad with the 327. The price lists specifically state that the h.d. rad was not available with 275 or 350 (plus 325) horse V8s, but a GM list I got back in the 1980s showed an L30-powered Oshawa Chevelle built a little after mine with the V01 rad. Actually the 283 & 327 (L30) shared the same radiators. The L79 327 cars were U.S. built in '67 and not really sold here, but the L79 shared the same 391 sq. in. area radiator with the big block (plus an added small block style rad spacer).

Interesting to know that there was no HD rad in a 67 bbc car... does anyone know by part # which rad it had? Would it have been the standard 3 row with centre cap? (and no shroud, just the finger tab?)... 67 Chevelles would have had a 4 core rad, shroud and filler cap on the top corner?

Thanks for clearing that up Cam- Keith, you've had/have lots of nice cars.

I don't know the part # but my 67SD 396/325 hp came with a 2 cores 1 inch wide no fan shroud and clutch fan.

That is the same rad as my 67SD. It is a 3 core and is not enough to keep it cool. I want to take mine to a rad shop and make it a 4 core and put a shroud on it.

I never had any over heating problems
I dont know if 4 cores would fit in that size of rad shell
