Beaumont car show?

Just a quick question. Is there or has there ever been a car show just for Beaumonts? And if not, would people be interested in one. Your comments please. Brian

I would be interested in one Brian. Where? BC or ON? Do you want to meet half way? I may have to change the gears for a long haul run.
I don't think there has ever been a Beaumont only car show.

What's a Beaumont?? weirdface

Hi Brad, Can't believe your still up. I would have to leave the hardtop at home if the show was in Ont. It would kill me on fuel. Although the convertible would be a lot cheaper with the 6 banger in it. Brad, I'm not sure where to have such a car show. Hopefully other members would have some ideas. Not sure if people would like to travel long distances with there cars. Maybe a car show in the west and one in the east

I'd be game, depending on where it is. Thinking on everage Northern Ontario would be the best bet, but hey I say that becasuse I'd have to go from Windsor to where ever. I like the idea of two shows on the same day, at either end of this great land.

Just a thought.

Thats a good idea. Maybe a co-ordinated day anywhere for everyone with a Canadian Pontiac. We don't fit in anywhere else. banned.gif

How about at the fairgrounds in Ayton....Right Brad????

Trouble is with specialty car show is getting the people.......especially in Canada, where long distances are the norm. Nobody is going to travel over 1000 miles to a car show, unless on vacation or something.

July 11th and 12th in Grand Island NY (just over the Niagara Falls border) is the Can Am Chevelle/Beaumont Clubs annual meet.  Usually there are between 12 and 15 Beaumonts at this show. I am sure I could arrange a special display and area for Canadian Ponchos as well as some extra love for the Beaumonts that show up.  It is a 4 hour drive from Windsor a 2 1/2  hour ( depending on traffic) trip from Toronto .

Yeah I like that idea close for me... There is no one here that would appreciate breakfast with a Beaumont.

NY would be neet... Funny though isn't it, worshiping our "Canadian" cars in the US...

I still think with the smaller member list we have right now, one central show is a bit much for travel. We can try and have a couple smaller ones the first time, and as memebership grows we plan on having bigger shows.

I'll drive just about anywhere, just give me enough notice.

For the past few years, the Alberta Iron Indians club has hosted an all Pontiac show on the Saturday before Fathers Day. This year it will be on June 14th. There has also been a show in the Okanagan on the same day for the past 2 years at least.
Maybe if "someone" wants to organize "something" for other parts of the country we could call it a "National Event"
Everyone with a Pontiac (includes Acadians and Beaumonts) is welcome.

I wonder how many Beaumont owners live in the gta area. A show or get together in Durham region or Toronto would be cool. How about a show of hands. count me in.

The only shows that I've been where I've seen a lot of Beaumont or Canadian Pontiacs were

Three Hills car show in Three Hills, AB northeast of Strathmore and Calgary,
first weekend in June

BC Chevelle Club picnic in the lower mainland of Vancouver BC third weekend in June

Canadian Classic Chevelles & Beaumonts club picnic second weekend in July,  The site changes year to year.

AutoFest in Oshawa, Ontario the weekend before Labur Day in August

Most of the show-n-shines I've been to across five provinces you see maybe a hand full of Canadian Pontiacs if your lucky.

Now AutoFest you see all sorts of Pontiacs not just Beaumonts.    Did that show three years running 2005 - 2007.    Won longest distance 3400 miles in one direction all three years.

Kept pissing off this guy who drove down from Sault Ste Marie.    Had to keep answering the same question all the time "You didn't drive that car all the way here did you?"   Second most asked question " So, where's your truck and trailer?"   One guy even asked me where I got my licence plates from.  Didn't believe me when I said British Columbia where I from.

Question for all the Ontarians on this site,  Why is it that I seem to meet most of you while your underneath my car looking at the frame?

Seen a lot of Ontario through my windshield only parts of the province I haven't driven are southwest to Windsor, Chatham-Kent and around Souix Lookout area.    Been on Hwys  6, 7, 11, 17, 416, 417, 401 427 so done the perimeter of the province.

I am going to put enter my 67 Beaumont SD in the Carl Casper International Auto Show in Louisville, KY  February 22-24.  I'm sure it will be the first time a lot of the visitors have seen a Beaumont in this area (or a Beaumont period).  I had only seen one previously, at a Super Chevy Show in Indianapolis a few years ago. It is one of my nicest driving cars I own.  I am very happy with it. It is a keeper.

You are going to have a ton of fun with that. In 1985, I went with my friend in his black 67 SD Beaumont to POCI in Denver. We had a riot. It's sure easy to meet people when you have the black sheep in the crowd!

In 1986, I took my 66 Grande Parisenne to POCI in North Carolina. Same thing, met tons of people.

1990, 1994, 1996 I took my 65 Acadian SD to POCI. Need I say how that went???!!!

I happen to think the Canadian Pontiacs are VERY special cars, and very noteworthy in North American car history.
