I had a 1969 Caprice 427-390 hp 4 speed 12 bolt posi 2 dr hardtop back in 1974-75. That is the car I took my son home from the hospital when he was born in 1975. Al
My Caprice was black exterior with a white vinyl top with all black interior with bucket seats. It was an Oshawa built car too. I spun a rod bearing and had to pull the engine and overhaul it. The crankshaft was cast iron and I had to have it turned .010 on the main journals and .020 on the rod journals. After getting it back together and running good I sold it for $1800. in the summer of 1975. The guy I sold it too beat the crap out of it and it ended up in a wrecking yard in the fall of 1975. He parted it out and the car was crushed shortly after. That is the only big block 4 speed car I ever owned. I did own a couple of 1970 Monte Carlo 396 (402) automatic bench seat cars later on. Glad to have found this site today as I own 3 1955 Canadian Pontiac's two 2dr Laurentian sedans and a 2 dr Pathfinder stationwagon which I am currently building into a mild street rod. Al
Many of us are guilty of pirating big blocks from b bodies to use them in something else. Oh, how I wish I had never parted out a single one of my big block cars...

WELCOME TO THE SITE!! You are forgiven...Just take care of those 55's and post pictures.. Carl2
The 68 SS hood was unique to the SS because of the hood louvers. I think all the 1969 hoods were the same for all Impalas regardless of being SS or not. That is an amazing price to pay for a hood!!
Is there a location on this site that shows how to post pictures? I haven't surfed the whole site yet. Al
I just posted this in a different thread here, so hopefully a copy/paste in here will set you up:
I will take a shot at this from memory.
First, go to www.photobucket.com I hope the link works for you. If not, just type it in.
Do whatever is needed to register on the home page. As I recall, it's pretty easy.
Once you are set up, you can organize your pictures by album names if you wish.
I keep all my pictures in one album that I have posted on forums. The reason for that is, if you ever delete the pic out of photobucket, the pic will also be gone from the forum. I simply know not to delete any pics out of my "misc" album, because there is a good chance they are linked to a forum somewhere.
To get pics from your computer to photobucket, you just go to the right side and use the browse buttons, then load all the ones from your computer that you want in photobucket. Click "add more" if you are doing more than 3. If you load the maximum, (I think it's 20 at a time) it takes a while, so you have to be patient.
Now, let's assume you have the pics in your photobucket account.
In a seperate window, have your favorite (Canadian Poncho) forum opened on the thread you want to post a pic in. Open up the "reply" window and type in whatever you want to say before posting the picture. Then go to the photobucket album and find the picture you want to post.
Under the picture, you will see the line "IMG Code" Left click that line and you will see it change color. Now right click that line, and left click "copy"
Go back to Canadian Poncho to the reply window.
Move the cursor to the space under the words you have written, and right click. Then, left click "paste" and voila, your picture will appear under the text your wrote.
Hope I did this complete and in the proper sequence!

I don't know how to work a computer good enough to do what you said! All I know how to do is surf and send an email and buy parts on Ebay. I have not had any formal training on computers so I'll get my wife to do it and try and follow what she does. This way I will not have to worry about screwing anything up. Besides its her computer and I am happy to let her do the new stuff first and then try and learn from watching her! Al
