I just needed to vent. Another 15 to 25 cms of snow tomorrow Ii'm sick of it! Yeah, I know we live in Canada and all that, but enough is enough. Out West all we had was cold temps. A storm out there was 10 cm's. We got more snow here in one week than in any single year of the 12 years I spent west of Ontario. Carl1, are there any acreages for sale near you?
I guess it won't help to hear someone from Manitoba say this then...
We are on an acreage, so when it snows, I have WORK. From about the 20th of December until I think it was around the the last day in January or the first day of Feb, I never put the snowblower on the tractor. Our snow amount in January was practically zilch!
Acreages are available out here, AND they are affordable still. Manitoba and Saskatchewan have screaming real estate deals available. We are seeing a bit of a trend around here the last while. Some of the Albertans who made their big bucks are coming to the lakes regions in northwest Ontario and also Manitoba and buying up cabins. They are a fraction of what they cost elsewhere in the country.

OK, here's the deal: I'll buy up some acreages around you and we'll go partners on a dragstrip . ( Gimli's too far away) By the way, did you ever look at the old Bison Dragways archived photos website? I imagine you know more than a few of the cars.
I hear you guys! I am so tired of blowing snow!! The whole month of Feb. I only got a nap, in the morning, once.. My heated garage, with cable, seems to help. Be glad when C1 gets his new cottage, so we can go visit..
Do you remember seeing the 66 GTO post car on the Bison site? That is my brother's old car. He had sold it by then, because he looked at the pic and says it's not him behind the wheel. I thought it was, and it would have made sense. Every car he ever owned went to the dragstrip and had the pants driven off it!!!

I'll have to look again for 66 GTO post. C1, you may not get the snow so much, but do you remember '96, I think when we had like 30 plus consecutive days of temps in the -30's ? That was the case in Shilo, anyway.

We had a very cold January again this year, which is part of the reason for no snow.
I think it was Christmas eve 98 when I took out our Grand National and drove to the car wash just to say I did it. If you looked real hard, you could find bits of snow in the odd place.

We're lucky in the GTA. We're only set to recieve 10-15cm. At least it won't be so brutally cold...I'm off to Yellowknife NWT on Friday, it was a -42 yesterday!!!

Goin' up to visit my brother and sister in law (wifes sister). See their new place built right on Yellowknife bay, and to check out the Arctic Winter games. Do some sledding (Ski-doo and Dog!) Take in the nightly northern lights show. Go drinking at the Gold Range Tavern.
It really is a awsome place to visit. Been there twice.

Well, that was a fun morning. We had about 3 inches of ice pellets with at least 10cm of snow on top. Back breaking heavy! Luckily my neighbor with a snowblower saved the day. Later, he cracked the housing. Nothing my trusty mig welder couldn't fix. I think I earned a couple more driveway clearings. Looks like I may need to use one this Friday- 15cm are forecast... Todd
