Have you ever changed something on your car, shown the wife....

And get a lackluster response? It happened to me when I changed the Laurentian from 14" steel wheels with wire hubcaps to 15" redline Wideovals with ralley wheels and pontiac center caps. She said "oh yeah?....hmmm......I kind of liked the wire wheels better"  confused.gif
I suspect I'm going to get the same results when I trash the quiet single exhaust for a set of performance duals. I can just hear it "hmm... It seems kind of loud, doesn't it?" weirdface
Don't get me wrong, my wife is GREAT but these moments remind me just how different most women are from us guys. I really wonder how women see cars. Ever get this statement?:
Her: "I saw a neat old car today. You would have liked it."
You say: "Really, what kind was it?"
Her: "Oh I don't know-it was big and had lots of chrome..and I think fins"
You: "You didn't catch a nameplate by chance?"
Her: "No, but it was a really nice red and it was a convertible. You should get a convertible"
Or do you ever get this:
You : "Wow, check out that cool 69 Chevelle Wagon!"
Her : "EWWWWWWWWW! I hate station wagons! They remind me of a HEARSE!"
biggrin

I ordered a 92 Bonneville W62 package, duals or at least dual tailpipes, 16" alloy wheels, 225 60 16 Eagles, ABS, 3.08 axle ratio and get this SPOILER DELETE because she didn't like that thingy on the trunk!

I don't have a wife, but I get it all the time from friends...." I saw an old car today, you would've liked it" Or "I saw a wagon like yours today, but it was red" Turned out to be a rusted out 66 chev wagon

We got married in 87. I had the 4 speed 427 GP. She had never really liked it, never really liked big cars.

We started driving the 81 and up style Cutlasses. We had 5 of them, plus a Grand National for 9 years. She liked those cars. In 98, I talked her into a gorgeous low mile, 1 owner 92 Roadmaster sedan. After a few years, we sold it for what we had paid for it and got a 94 Roadmaster sedan, LT1. She's still driving it. So her daily car for 10 years has been a Roadmaster. So much for not liking big cars...........

Now I'm hunting for a 66 Grande Parsienne!

And don't get me wrong, I am married to the greatest woman in the world. Still happy after 20 plus years, and at her part time job, her chair is 2 feet from my chair. We even work together well!!!

Visible stuff I usually tell her what I bought, ask will how much, did u use visa, ( to get points) If it's not visible I won't tell cuz then she knows how much I'm spending. LOL. Last summer was the first time on the road in twenty years, I took her for a drive and all I got was " it's really noisey and it shakes" and "what's this gonna cost" I guess I'll have to join the loner club, LOL.

i took my wife to the barry fleamarket one year. she has said that she will never go to any more and will pay someone to go with me. on the same context, she has asked me to go to chick flicks with her i have told her she has friends. it works out. my boy is 8 so i have someone for fleamarkets, cruises and car shows now. a girl friend told her years ago, when ever a guy lifts a hood say OOH AHH CLEAN. needless to say you know what i get now.
