It's close to Liberty but a few shades off, and a metallic flake to it. I've had some problems with the front bumper paint cracking all to hell (no flex agent in the paint).

Right now the engine's out of her to replace a badly leaking rope seal. We had to pull the crank out to do it, and discovered copper showing on some of the bearings, so those are getting replaced since we're in there anyway. It's gonna kick hardcore when she's back together which should be a couple of weeks if all goes well.

I'm near Orangeville, ON.

(Edited to remove the extra "a" from metallic. Too much metal ;) )

Nice GTO. Can't wait to see some more pics. You're close enough to me that I may see the car in person.

Very Nice GTO!

I'm all done mine, which is posted on the rides site as well, so I'm in the market for a non-hideaway 69.

What I want to do with my next one is paint it like the carousel red one I have, add the judge decal scheme, so that on the outside, she looks like a 69 Judge...but...

from the frame up I would like the suspension to be tubular, all wheel disk brakes, and I want to put a 2006 GTO 400 engine in it, with the six speed transmission...so what I end up with is the best of both worlds, and all GTO.

What a shock the world would get when the hood opens up!

If you ever have that 69 in Ottawa, let me know...and we'll tear up Innes Road with GTO's.  I am looking to get to Toronto with mine this year to visit Izzy Moses and the folks at Early Birds.

Nice to see them driven!  I'm not a trailer queen kinda goat owner...yet.

Friends,

Please keep the snow off the roof of your tent, if you use one.

It could have been a lot worse. A pretty good ding in the roof, and a not so bad scrape on the passenger side fender. When I got home and saw it (in the dark), with a flash light, it looked like the whole roof had caved in on the car. Thankfully, that was not the case, but still, I was so mad at myself. I'd been cleaning the snow and ice off that thing regularly too, but not that day obviously.

Wow, good lesson to be learned there.

I know it's no consolation but I guess it could have been worse. That hurts to see that.

Welcome,  Just wondering if your going to use the rope seal again or going to give the new BOP seal a try.

Hi and welcome ! Nice car ! We built one of these back in 1999 with a little Pontiac 455 bored and stroked to 468 from SDPerformance in Abbotsford BC. It was a blast to drive with the 4 speed Super T10 as well. We should all pitch in and fund you with money to buid you a nice garage.

I have painted mine 3 times.. and used flex agent and it always cracks in a different place...  grrrrrrrrr   they are so old now and thats part of endura life.. I have a rope seal also , she drips like a harley in the garage over winter but stops in the spring summer fall as the rope swells while she is kept warm and they are ment to drive right?   One day I will put in the vitron seal and be done with it .. Maybe when I get the urge to paint her again..

I'm near Orangeville, ON.
