I used to collect vintage die cast and I completely forgot Dinky issued a Parisienne! Thanks for sharing!

There is an RCMP version too with a Mountie in dress red driving. Here is a rough one but you get the idea.

That is so cool. How many unique Canadian cars do we ever see?

I think I may still have one of those in my basement somewhere.  I have a box of old Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox down there.  Could be some real gold in there, but to find it would mean cleaning out the crawl space.ohmygod.gif

I don't like thinking about the Dinky's and Corgis I had. When I got married mom gave me a box of the remains of about 6, the coolest is a 63 Dynamic 88 Man From Uncle Car with Solo and Ilya shooting out the windows at the press of a button, have a Marlin, 2 Mustangs, Camaro, Austin Healey and some 50's and 60's F1 cars.

My son has close to 500 hot wheels, many in the packaging still and all in good condition. Still have a bout 10 original 1997 Hot wheels in that Tire Carrying case too with the shirt badges.

I used to have a room in my house with the walls covered in lexan display cases. My primary focus was early Matchbox models. Hot wheels were/are cool but when I was a kid most stores (K-Mart, Woolco) stocked Matchbox models. My parents would give me one dollar a week and that would buy me one Matchbox model. I drove my dad nuts because I'd stand at the Matchbox display FOREVER trying to determine which one I wanted. Hmm--this one has "suspension" but this one has opening doors....
For my birthday my parents would give me $10. There was a big K-mart store on the other side of town that had a big display case with the larger Corgi toys. I'd buy one of their Mack Truck/trailer sets. I'd spend HOURS and HOURS in the garden driving my cars on the dirt roads I made. Ahh-the good ol days!

Here's proof:

You'll have to excuse the haircut- Dad liked to save a few bucks and cut our hair back then! bleh I tried to enhance the photo to determine what two cars I am playing with but I had no luck. One is a truck. I had a good friend who lived two doors down. He was spoiled and had the best die cast cars-old ones handed down to him in mint condition. You can bet I had him over quite a bit!
I bumped into him at a Home Depot a couple years back-he still has them all, still in the mint late 60's Matchbox carry case! Oh he also has the uncut sheets of O-Pee-Chee hockey cards he got in the early 70's too!

I scored this a year or so ago from a guy in England who sells mint-in-box Corgi and Matchbox. It is the same truck I bought on my 6th birthday:

I wouldn't mind getting the other 4 or 5 trucks I used to have at some point.

Nices pics Todd! ...............My Pride and Joy...1964-65 Topps Tall Boys, 110 cards in two series, Howe, Hull, Makita, Bower, Gary Dornhoffer rookie card in there too! Had them since new. (plus a few other sets, including Bobby Orr Rookie Card) Usually sells for about $5,000 on ebay.

How cool is this...my post count is at 396. I'm stopping for a while just to savour the big block call out.

I think we must have all been separated at birth.  I used to build giant cities in the garden in the backyard.  I used pieces of wood to make overpasses and had 6 lane freeways of matchbox cars motoring along.   Of course my Dad hated what I was doing to his flower beds so he never took any pictures.  I should have become a civil engineer and built highways biggrin!

Another fun idea was to tape toothpicks to the picnic table. Great speedbumps for those Matchbox cars with suspension! :)
