69 4 door Winnipeg Kijiji

I don't know the car, but it's likely within an hour of me. Just holler if you have an interest in it.

Man, I can't believe how shiney the paint and chrome is!  It actually does look like it has 44,000 original miles.  For that price, the car is an absolute steal!  If only I had a place to store it.....
Todd, take that $1,000 you were going to use for the 70 Safari and put it towards getting a sibling for your car.biggrin

I agree, that looks like a bargain.  Mint, other than the nose not lining up with the hood a little.  If I lived closer than the east coast, I'd consider taking that one home!

Well, this is crazy! I can't find that ad now to get ahold of the owner. The link I posted takes me to "classic cars for sale" but the car is not in there............

Anyone???

I agree.  That car was such a good deal that someone local probably hustled right over there and snapped it up.  It was in such good condition and so cheap that I can see someone buying it for a year round daily driver.  That would be a shame, Canadian cars in that good of a condition really need to be preserved.  On the other hand, I'd be watching ebay to see if the purchaser trys to flip it for a quick profit....

I think this Olds is for sale from the same owner - the Jeep (?) wagon in the background looks like the same one that was in the pics with the Pontiac... might be worth a try?

Shouldn't that 2+2 have stripes instead of the chrome along the bottom? Let us know what it's like Carl!

I just spoke to a very nice lady who is selling this car. She has had it about 21 years. It had new floor pans welded in about 6 years ago, but that was the extent of the restoration. She says it has no rust holes, just surface rust.

This lady knows more about her car than most men do when I phone and ask about a car for sale!

Update in 24 hours if I can fit it into my schedule to go look at it tomorrow.

Carl

I also talked to the owner of the 4 door.

The car was bought new at the dealership where I have worked for the last 22 years.. It was bought by Johnny Loewen. He lived 2 miles from us! He had it all these years, but I remember him buying a different car, about the time I started there in 1985. He kept the old Pontiac. It sat around many years until in the late 90's a group of locals in a tiny village about 1/2 mile from his house started up an antique tractor club, and they incorporated trucks and cars into the club. Johnny had the car restored shortly after that. His son Bryan still lives on the family farmyard. When I called Bryan, he stated he thinks the odometer has flipped over once, but his mom happened to be there when I called, and she is not sure. At any rate, Johnny became ill a few years ago and passed away. Bryan really had no interest in the car, and I remember him calling me one night and asking the value of the car. He would only tell me they needed to set a value, not that it was for sale. He told me that the car was donated to Teen Challenge. If you don't have that there, it's a Christian organization that counsels kids in trouble. Donations get a tax receipt.
