good for him we need more deals like that.... great!!!!
A guy I knew in school won $13m last week, he's a great guy, I hear everyone's calling him looking for money, banging on the door, even kicked in the door of his parent's van-too bad people are so terrible-now he'll probably have to move or something. Fred is a really nice guy who would always help people, went to work, paid his bills, never married-and got lucky, I really thought great good for him now I wonder if its even worth it-his life will never be the same
I honestly believe many rich people are miserable. My senior boss at work (father/son dealership) is likely a very wealthy man although he doesn't live like it. I happen to know he is VERY generous, although he does his best to hide it when he donates to needy causes. I am amazed at the number of annoying calls I take on his behalf from people who want donations!
I say many rich people are miserable, not all. He is not one of them though. I would be if I were him, because people constantly bugging me for money would get on my case.
I don't have that problem!!!

Funny, I agree too-so many miserables, I've been up and down with finances all my life-my Dad always has the dream to win big-When I quit the bodyshop and landed a job in the local steel plant for $40-$50k a year I thought well times 30 years I'd be past the million dream a little at a time ! It was great while it lasted (9 years) then unemployed/self employed, just scored a great short term contract job, not rich but no one begging for money here either.
I hear you guys. Money isn't everything. I had a co worker who was a miserable SOB 90% of the time. His life revolves around money and greed. He has a big HOUSE (It's not a home!) and likes to brag about his RRSP's but you can see how empty he is. Our house is a century old and is nothing fancy, yet it always feels inviting. It's not a big deal if you leave your shoes on! I feel very fortunate to have what I have. I don't need an Escalade in the driveway or a Rolex on my wrist to be happy. Todd
