Saw a beauty fireworks display on Saturday night at cottage, LaFonatinne Ontario - Population 200, better than anything Mayor Miller finances here in TO. Just came in from Canada Day Parade for our little corner of Toronto - East York, Been doing it since 1960 when it was Dominion Day and long before East York was part of the big city. Toronto Police Winged Wheels were there, precision Harley driving boys in blue. There was a 1973 Trans Am in the parade, original owner car, I've driven in the parade before but it is deadly hot and the car just idles for 2 hours. Anyway, Old Autos Superstar, Gord Hazlett, my neighbour was in parade, can't drive the '27 Pontiac anymore so he rode in a WWII jeep. The Shriners have this awesome School Bus converted into a CNR Locomotive, complete with train air horn and a passenger car and caboose. Lots of fun, small town in the big city! We have the amusements set up in a park nearby and fireworks to cap off the day. Good day eh!
