Hmmm   I am 5 miles from a complete Pontiac 455.. BUT then, it would not be a Canadian Pontiac

"taking the trim rings off"? confused.gifblankstare.gif

I hope you will be putting the original Ventura emblems back on.  I don't know what kind of reception this guy got back in Oregon when he went to cruises but I know here in Ontario if you run into any real GTO owners, I doubt they would be too receptive to the way the car is badged now. bleh.gif

Speaking of GTOs, now that Transport Canada has revised the embargo list to no longer exclude 04-06 GTOs, I will have to seriously look into importing one of these. nod.gif

My reference to taking off the trim rings, was refering to Strato Chief.. It just happens, that I bought a "near new" set of Ventura side emblems, in the spring.. I need the pontiac emblems in the front ,and back.. Car is never going to be a GTO... biggrinbiggrin

Be careful Carl, I parked the August Feature Car beside a a nice red 69 GTO one night at a cruise here in Toronto and then next thing I know the owner got in and moved it over a few spaces next to a Mopar with this giant chrome thing sticking out of the hood, I guess he didn't want no poor man's GTO next to him. disbelief.gif

Some people have no taste...  Maybe he felt sorry for the Mopar guy, and wanted to make him feel better..  You can park beside me ANYTIME..wink

Why are you taking the trim rings off the Strato?

I hope you don't mind if I happen to find that hilarious!

I once showed my car right next to a rough primered car and it doesn't bother me one bit who is next to me. Maybe a month after the show his car looked 1000 times better than mine if he had it re-done.

I don't mind one bit I find it hilarious too. Now every time that I see that GTO and the owner, I think to myself "what an unprintable derogatory term!"

RE: More on the 307

I found this link that is very interesting. They got their bone stock 40 year old 307 for $250, it immediately pulled 230 HP on the dyno then they tweaked it a bit and saw 315 HP. All this on a low buck budget. Not bad, 315 HP should be good for most of us.
