73 Lemans sport coupe, 4-speed car $350

Ad says it's rough, no drivetrain, no photos... but it's a 4-speed car. I'd check it out for myself if it weren't on the other side of the country from me.

It also says it has an in-dash tac.

Might be worth it for some parts if it's not a fixer...

You can pay $250 just for the in dash tach and guages, throw in the pedals for the 4 speed at $400 and you could easily make $300 on those parts alone.

Might be a nice one to save too.  Would like to know the details... for example if it's a Canadian car with a Chev small block and a 4-speed in a Sport Coupe, it's gotta be a rare animal.

Heck, any '73 Sport Coupe 4-speed has to be rare, as it seems all the 4-speeds I've seen have been in Grand Ams or GTOs, for '73 that is.

Another thought.... did any of the Canadian Lemans from that era come with Chevy big blocks?  Or were the big motors 400+ all Pontiacs by then?

No Chevy Big Blocks in Canadian Tempest/LeMans/GTO, except for the unproved rumoured twelve 396 (402) Oshawa 70 GTO's. Makes a great idea for a "What if" project Canadan car. I've thought about it a few times and also about putting in a sbc 400 as another "What If", probably a much easier swap if the car was an original sbc 350.

It would be nice to see some photos of the $350 car, I'm almost tempted sight unseen though. Transport to Ontario would be twice the asking price!

I was tricked too, it says in the fine print 'Photo not actual car" because that photo car is not too bad.

I have looked into this before and most research for GTO shows 4,806 built with 1,113 being 4 speed cars. Grand Ams are even less with 187 4 speeds of 43,136 made. Combined that is just under 3% of production.

There were 3,761 Sports Coupes built for Canada in 1973 so if that ratio holds true that would be a possible 113 - 4 speed Canadian LeMans Sport Coupes.
