According to the info I have, you have a Pathfinder 2 door sedan 6 cylinder (261). Base price was $2539, and base weight was 3220 lbs.

Hope this helps.
Todd

A Pathfinder is unique to Canadian Pontiacs, yes. The US Pontiacs had totally different model names and styles. I would think you have a very unusual car. Maybe not when it was new, but I doubt you will see many these days.

The latest issue of Collectible Automobile has an article on Canadian Pontiacs up to 1965. Worth reading!

Todd is correct with his decoding of your 57 Pathfinder

 7= 1957
 2211= Pathfinder 2 dr sedan
 6=  261 six cylinder
 442101  would  be the sequence number of all 57 Pontiacs built in Canada at the Oshawa plant.   I think there is one to many digits in this number as there was not that many 57 Canadian Pontiacs built. There were 48,140   1957 Pontiac cars built and 682 trucks.  Sedan Deliveries were marketed as trucks through GMC dealers.

Todd,
Can you decode this?
Model: 20-69W
Serial: 4206928603
Engine: W9292153
Trim: 605
Paint: 452
Body Serial: 7083

Here's what I know:
1954 fourdoor Canadian Pontiac, flat6
Here's what I think:
Chieftain (or Pathfinder?), 239 ci, originally red.

Do you have the date for the Collectible Automobiles issue? I will send you a Tim's card for a photocopy of the article. Canadian for sure. Hahhah.

Cheers,
Cody

Is there a website where I can check out my VIN number for the 1966 Parisienne I just purchased. Or can somehow help me. I would like to restore the car to its original make. The VIN # is 676469024248. Please and thank you, PontiacPete..
