66 Beaumont ragtop spotted in London, Ont

I wish I had my camera. There was a nice 66 Beaumont convertible at the Canadian Tire cruise night last night in London. It was silver with red interior (original colours) The original 6 has been swapped out for a healthy 396. I spoke to the owner for a while. He's not currently onine but after telling him about the site I suspect he may be soon! He is looking for good original backup light lenses. If anyone has any, let me know. I have his Ph #. BTW, he said his Beaumont was one of something like 108 made.

That was my father in law Mike you were talking with.  I've posted a few pics of his car on here before, here's one of them from earlier in the spring.  He's not much for being online so i don't know if/when you may see him on here.  He's put a lot of work into that car.  Still has the six in the garage.  It was maroon when he found it.  Car hadn't been on the road since 87', that's when the last sticker renewal on the rear plate was from.  I believe he did get the info pack from GM Canada for the car.  He's been a great help to me stripping apart the parts car i had and helping with problems on my car.

And believe me it's so much fun to drive! He says to me get in and take it for a spin. So it not being my car i just babied it. What would make the experience perfect would be posi to be able to lay down two patches of rubber. It's still got the 2spd auto transmission with a shift kit in it now. Besides those rear back up lights he's trying to decide about wheels, he's looking for rings and centres at a reasonable price. I think he needs 15X8.

Wow. Small world! He is a nice guy. I told him he could get new centers and rims from Coker Tire. I love the red interior!

The seats are in original condition. I like that it's got the front bench in it. It is a bit dirty i've thought. What would work on the vinyl the best to get the grime off and bring out the colour. I'm talking like that stuff they used to advertise, like Nu Finish but for the interior.

Is it a solid vinyl, or a mesh type? There is a GM multipurpose cleaner that works well on smooth vinyl such as door panels etc. I use it on the armrests, console etc on my 94 Impala SS.

I believe his seats are all vinyl. Should be the same as are in that Beaumont on the thread here. As for the back up lights it looks like he's got them working. I was over at his place a week ago and they were complete with lenses...not sure if they were the correct lenses but looked good to me. He was having a problem with them though as he'd taken the steering wheel off to try to get the horn working. But a bit of tinkering and me telling him whether the back up lights were on or off it seemed like all is well with them again. The horn not so much. He took an extra one i had from my parts Firebird but is having problems somewhere along the line getting it to work on the car.
