1968 Pontiac 350 (American) in Ottawa

1968 Pontiac 350, 265 hp, YN code (auto trans) #17 heads, 9.2 to 1 compression.  Original engine from my 1968 Firebird, ran strong until it was pulled this year for engine swap to 1972 455 HO.

125,000 miles, no ticks, no knocks, does not burn any oil.  I do not know if it was rebuilt earlier in it's life but I wouldn't be surprised given how strong and problem free the engine has been for me.

Can be sold with or without it's current Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and Edelbrock 600 cfm electric choke four barrel carb and Performer RPM cam (RAIV spec cam) and lifters.  Asking $800 with all included, buyer pick up, cannot ship.  Will negotiate a price for engine less some or all pieces mentioned above.

Also have the original 1968 2 speed Pontiac Super Turbine 300 auto trans for sale.  In very good running condition when pulled 4 years ago and stored.
$100 or best offer, buyer pick up.

Cdn2pls2 asked:  What car did that '72 HO come out of?

I bought the 455 HO already rebuilt, but never fired, from a nostalgia Pontiac racer named Truman Fields, so I don't know it's origins, whether it came out of a TA or a GTO.  It's a YB block, date code A142.  I had West Carleton Automotive tear it down before firing it and Larry corrected a number of things that weren't done properly during the intial rebuild.  Replaced the valve springs, seals and retainers, took a bit off the heads to get to 9.2 to 1, milled and fit the intake, did a proper 3 angle valve job, aligned honed the crank saddles, reconditioned the journal end of connecting rods, BOP main seal, new ARP bolts, polished the crank & installed a new cam.

If you can still read the VIN on the front of the block that should tell you what it came out of.

Nope, 427Carl you've got it wrong.  I was replying to Cdnspls2's post about what the 72 455HO was originally from (it replaced the 350 that was originally in my Firebird).  It is the 350 that is for sale .  The 455 HO motor is definately NOT for sale.
